Frequently Asked Questions

What time is the screening?

Each film begins approximately 45 mins after the day’s official sun-set time. We need to allow this time for darker viewing conditions. Please see the BOOKING page (on Billetto) for the ‘Doors OPEN’ time as they will vary.

What should I bring?

A fold-up chair and your picnic. We will sell hot drinks at Stanwick Lakes. We also advise a warm blanket, and it’s vital to bring a TORCH please – there is little or no outdoor lighting at the venues, so it’s best to have a torch to return to your car safely. If using chairs and arriving early, please sit at the back and sides first. Also if your chair is high backed, please seat to the rear.

Where is the outdoor theatre at Stanwick Lakes?

The theatre is to the left of the park entrance gate by the mini-lake opposite the cafe. It’s signposted too!

What should I wear?

Even after the warmest day the temperature can drop significantly late in the evening so please dress appropriately and bring an extra layer or blanket with you. And waterproofs coats are a wise precaution!

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own refreshment including alcohol. Wine bottles are fine but please refrain from bringing any other glass with you – use plastic cups to drink from as opposed to glass that can easily break.

We thank you for taking all of your rubbish with you please.

What happens if it rains?

These film shows are an all-weather event and screenings go ahead if rain is forecast. We hope the weather will be fine, and in most cases it turns out fine but if showers are forecast, we advise bringing a suitable coat. No umbrellas please out of respect for others please. PLEASE NOTE: Should extreme weather be forecast such as high winds or storms, we will endeavour to reschedule the show and email notification ONTHE MORNING OF THE SHOW. If cancelled, refunds will be returned to your account (minus the Billetto booking fees).

Can I bring my children?

If the film certificate is U or PG, you are welcome to bring your children if they are of an age whereby they can watch a film the whole way through. If it is a 12A, parents may bring a child but please note they contain scenes unsuitable for under 12’s. Out of respect for other guests, sorry no babies.

Is the film suitable for my children?

To make an informed decision about the suitability of a particular movie you may wish to visit Common Sense Media that provides a detailed analysis of age appropriate factors for a huge catalogue of movies and other media.

Can I bring my dog?

No, we are sorry but dogs are not allowed out of respect for other guests.

Why does the DVD have a different certificate to the Luna Flix screening of it?

Certificates of the season’s films are in line with the BBFC’s decision for public exhibition of a film, not their DVD equivalent when released for home viewing. There are sometimes differences as In home circumstances it cannot be guaranteed that a child watches the content with adult supervision. Luna Flix takes its ratings responsibility as seriously as any cinema and anyone underage will not be permitted inside

If you wish to smoke, please do it beyond the space of the theatre, again please think of others.
